Yes, it's festival time! During August Edinburgh bursts to life as the Fringe festival kicks off, bringing exciting shows and laughter from around the world. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, International Festival and the Book Festival are just a few events that descent upon the city bringing a wide array of unique and brilliant performances, shows and activities. Scotland's capital has a quiet beauty, the past resonating through center like a wistful spirit; a magical backdrop to these culturally enriched gatherings. The city is bursting with talent and people who travel over-seas just to join in the fun! It's really just like a month long party, with most clubs open until 5am. The world famous Edinburgh Tattoo is probably one of the highlights of the festival period, celebrating the Year of Natural Scotland. Featuring performers from Europe, the Far East, Central and South America who are famed for their music, colour and enthusiasm. And don't forget the traditional pipe bands, a breathtaking spectacle to watch from your tiered seat at Edinburgh Castle.
